What do Coffee Filters and Butterflies have in common? This Butterfly craft project.

Butterfly Craft Projects

We continue this month’s theme, all about our gardens, with our Butterfly craft project. We have had projects on how seeds grow; projects about some of our favorite pollinators; and projects all about science. This is one of our favorite pollinators, the butterfly. We love it when butterflies come to visit our garden! They are beautiful and help our plants to grow.

Butterfly Coffee Filter

Today we are creating butterflies out of, what else? Coffee filters! We’re using markers and a spray bottle to create a beautiful tie dye effect. This project can be completed inside, but does work better outside. If inside, we recommend a cardboard box when it comes to spraying this project.

Trust us, it is VERY important to put newspaper down under this project. When you use water on the marker ink, the ink will bleed. It will stain whatever surface is underneath in a beautiful tie dye pattern. Please be advised!

These butterflies are fun and easy to make. They are so pretty when complete, and little ones just love them. For complete directions, click HERE.

We hope you enjoy making a flight or flutter of butterflies, because “You’re so creative!”
