National Inspire Your Heart With Art Day!

We are inspiring our hearts with heart-shaped art. On You’re so Creative we have several heart-shaped art projects – everything from teaching your little artists how to cut out their own hearts, to using heart shapes to make animals, or even some that use hearts to make trees!

Here are just a couple of our projects to get you started. To find more, simply go to the bottom search bar and type ‘Hearts’.

Let’s start with learning how to cut out a heart.

Heart Cut Out

Supplies:

  1. Copy of heart
  2. Paper
  3. Safety scissors

Directions:

  1. Print out copy of heart.
  2. Fold paper in half.
  3. Cut on dotted line.

Let’s waddle into our next heart-themed project, the penguin.

Heart Penguin

Supplies:

  1. Copy of penguin pattern or Construction paper
  2. Scissors
  3. Glue stick
  4. Large google eyes

Directions:

  1. Cut out penguin parts, either from pattern or free hand.
  2. Have the child glue the parts together.
  3. Glue on eyes.

Last, but not least, let’s take our hearts to one of my favorite places, the ocean. We love this fun heart-shaped sea turtle.

Sea Turtle

Supplies:

  1. Copy of turtle parts
  2. Green paper
  3. Glue stick
  4. Scissors

Directions:

  1. Copy turtle parts onto green paper.
  2. Cut out turtle parts and large green heart .
  3. Glue the head and legs onto the heart to make a sea turtle.
