December crafts that start with the letter H.

We have been working our way through the alphabet with art. It just happened that the month of December and crafts that start with the letter H matched up. This week we are working on Herbs for Solstice, a Halo and a Hanukkah Star. (We know some people spell it ‘Chanukah’).

In our first project we are using herbs to learn about how some people celebrate Solstice. These herbs are used to celebrate on the longest night of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, December 21st.

  5. Scissors

Directions:

  1. Print out a copy of herbs.
  2. Have your little artist color the herbs.
  3. Cut out 6 or more strips of green paper.
  4. Teach your artist how to make a paper chain.
  5. Cut out herbs and have your artist glue them to the chain.
  6. Hang to display.

We all think our little artists are angels, don’t we? Now with this art project they can make their own halos and look like one!
