Ice Cream Crafts

We thought we would share a few of our fun ice cream crafts in today’s newsletter. Some may know July 19th is National Ice Cream Day in the United States. What better way to avoid the sugar rush than making some ice cream craft projects?

Before we get crafty we thought we would share a few fun facts about this yummy treat.

  1. Ice cream comes in hundreds of differnt flavors. From the favorites like chocolate and vanilla. To the unusual flavors like hot dog and pickle. Yes you read that right.
  2. Ice Cream is almost as old as humans themselves. There has been some form of ice cream made for at least the last 2000 years.
  3. Sunday is the number one day for sales of this creamy treat.

In our first craft, we are starting by coloring or painting our ice cream cones. Then to ‘top it off’ we are gluing on real sprinkles. There are some little artists that will enjoy decorating the insides of their tummies too. Click the image below to make your own.

This is a great craft for teaching addition and subtraction. You can add scoops to the project and count. Then pretend to eat a scoop or two and count how many are left. You may choose to print the scoops onto bright color paper or have your little artists color themselves. Click the image below to make this ice cream crafts.
